I like a wide variety of music, I mostly listen to rock music, but I really enjoy traditional celtic music, its in my blood I think (I'm pureblood Irish).

I actually joined this forum to have a support base in finding new traditional celtic music, as well as traditional Japanese and Chinese music, to relax to. Its hard to actually find popular artists in those genres, being that they aren't at all mainstream X3

If you are going to post here, I suggest you get a bit of a thicker skin. 96% of the posters that responded to your pic are beloved members and are really really nice people. If you are looking for music you'll find it here. But I suggest you stay out of the lounge, as you seem a bit sensitive and youll only end up with hurt feelings.

Good point, Roxy, although I'm actually fairly thick-skinned... my brother is a troll, the smelly, under-the-bridge type of troll, and I deal with him all the time XD

I admit, I never feel quite right entering into a social group in which sarcasm and heavy humor are the norm, I've been brought up to be polite and friendly at all times, and my parents never enjoyed sarcastic humor or humor at the expense of others, lol. I always feel like I wouldn't know where the boundaries are when making jokes like that, especially online, where the tone of your voice doesn't play a part.

As someone who doesn't understand Chinese I've had kind of a hard time deciphering whether things I like are single artists or if they're compilations, but I can tell you at least one album that I really like which I believe fits into the "silk and bamboo" genre of music that it seems like you're talking about:

Shànghǎi Mínzú Yuètuán (Shanghai traditional ensemble)—Jiangnan Sizhu (Moon and Lanterns)

I also have this two disc album that's labeled simply GuZheng—High Mountain Flowing Water (just the name of the instrument and the title of the first track) which I can't seem to find anywhere online anymore. But if you happen to find it, it's pretty good.

I have a few erhu-focused albums too but those don't seem like they're quite what you're looking for.
