Yeah javelins and TOW missiles. That's what I learned at the School of infantry east. We learned the different tanks for different countries, mainly so we only shot at foe tanks and not friendly tanks. But my unit was scheduled for Ramadi Iraq in 2008 where we didn't bring one tow missile or javelin lol TOW gunners became machine gunners. I did fire 4 tow missiles though while in but never fired one javelin and those were the cool fancy ones.

That's cool you went to a military school! I know that would have helped me down at Parris Island in 2007. I didn't even know what "drill" was on the first day. Just went with the flow and at the end of boot camp was the drill expert they make you into.

Yeah I wanted to be in the Navy and a SEAL since I was a kid. Those commercials looked so cool and sold me. I went to NJROTC while in school before I moved to a different school that only had the air force version and I didn't wanna do that.

When I got to bootcamp and saw all the swimming requirements and exercise ones too. I was like f that. I'm not even that strong of a swimmer.

My job was ET. Electrician Tech. I learned to troubleshoot radars on ships.

That's cool, I bet being on a ship is tough.

I wouldn't know sadly. I missed my ship when they came back from their 3 month deployment from Japan. They then headed out for a 1 month deployment to Hawaii and I missed getting on board then too. Shortly after I was discharged. Went to the Navy didn't even get to live on a ship . I was stationed in San Diego though and enjoyed the weather there on that base.

San Diego was where my dad in the Navy was stationed.

^ This is so NOT the Mindfulness I imagined ! It's gonna take me some time to re-adjust my guesses about who you actually are. You look like you've stepped out of a book I read a while back by Paul Rieckhoff, about being stationed in Iraq.

Nice photos, both of you, and congrats on surviving bootcamp and everything thereafter.
