I got one tick bite so far this summer. My usual method for avoiding them is just swimming in the ocean like basically every day and thus rinsing them off before they bite a hold of me.

If it doesn't work, at least they get tormented with cold baths.

You know the beautiful thing about septum piercings is you can just flip it up into your nose when your grandkids come around.

I know but I’d probably just be too self conscious to ever wear it down unless I was somewhere other than where I live. Does it need to be down while it heals?? I don’t know.

Nope it's fine. A horseshoe piercing is just as happy in your nose as hanging down.

fun fact: all my girlfriends up to this point had a septum piercing.
