I’m glad I never cared much about my appearance.

One time I was at an onsen in Japan and I saw a yakuza spend like 20 minutes on his hair. I was like thinking look at ****ing Paris Hilton over here.

I wish I could stop caring about my appearance. I try to, by periodically chopping off most of my hair (usually at 4 am, usually while listening to Einstürzende Neubauten and feeling a bit manic) and assuming it will help desensitize me to my paralyzing fear of being ugly *cue Margaret Atwood ominously chanting "YOU ARE YOUR OWN VOYEUR" in the distance* but it never works for long and I end up just hating myself for cutting my hair. Fortunately it always grows back quickly. Ugliness is much more interesting than generic beauty anyway IMO. We should all aspire to be ugly. When I am officially an Old, I hope, I will embrace ugliness and scamper around the village terrorizing the police.

And yeah, purging isn't a good way to lose weight. (I could always tell which actresses on teen shows of yore were bulimic due to the puffiness) I can't imagine you actually need to lose any weight though elph, you look like you're still the same willowy elven boy.

Chio

If chimps ate your face your beauty would still shine through

Not your personality either - I mean your raw physical beauty

Joke's on you: judging by the pictures of your cowboy goth phase you're even prettier with short hair. I agree that a certain kind of 'ugliness' can be very compelling, to the point where I would hesitate to call it ugly.

 that's oddly sweet

Thank you Marie, unfortunately I'm no longer thin enough for a lot of my cowboy goth garb (or any of my pants) :c I'll just live in this oversized wolf hoodie instead, I guess, it's fine. Pants are banned until women's clothing companies fix their preposterous designs and sizing.

Thank you, that's very sweet; I genuinely wish I had that cross-stitched or embroidered on something.

I often wonder about that lady (though I'm sure there's more than one lady/person) who got her face ripped off by a chimpanzee. I wonder how her face transplant is doing. (What would she think, I wonder, of my incessant whining about my rosacea) I would LOVE to work with animals as a career but I'm very much afraid of chimpanzees.

Definitely Shailene Woodley from Secret Life of the American Teenager. I also got bulimic vibes from some of the Pretty Little Liars actresses (the ones who played Aria and Spencer), though not in every season.

Anyone from Buffy, Party of 5, or Dawson's Creek? Those are the only ones I can remember getting super into.
