My scalp seems to agree. :(

I haven't really updated my image in over 2 1/2 years so it seemed a good time to freshen up my account.

Today I'm on vacation and the day is full of fun - I took myself antiquing to Shawnee, bought a smashing vintage french cuffed dress shirt, paired it with a favorite vest and blazer, and found two vintage sets of cufflinks to finish off the ensemble. I just had brunch with a gang of local musicians and artist, followed by a dinner gathering with some wonderfully creative people. At least I'll look sharp!

So at long last, here's innerspaceboy to close out 2018. :)

I'm not sure how to say this, but you have hobbit eyes. They are childlike and guileless but not in a way that makes you look stupid (yeah I guess hobbits are a bit stupid by choice), but in a way that makes you look joyful and immune to the end game of existential dread. Someone who'd jump in the Around the World in 80 Days balloon with undisguised wonder. You look like someone who I don't know if I'd be #1 best friends with cause I doubt our outlooks would coincide enough for that but you look like someone whose friendship I would cherish and make an effort to maintain. There are like five people I've ever met who I'd say that last sentence about btw.

Bet he's a serial killer!

Would that spoil the deal?

I think he looks like he tries too hard

Sorry spacey

I think he tries as much as he is compelled to.

That is definitely one of the most unique responses I've received to a member selfie in ages. Thank you. I'm always open to new friendships and it would be an honor to be included among your big five. Say hello!

No worries OH. But reason it contextually. Bear in mind that my era of the internet and of digital media predate the casual taken-for-granted selfie era of slouched, ill-posed carelessness with no consideration to lighting or exposure that has come to dominate the internet selfie. Remember that I labor for hours well into the night to uniformly structure metadata mappings and database systems to archival perfection. I don't half-ass anything. I'm passionate about doing my best work at all times. So if I take a selfie, I'm going to put some mindfulness and some effort into it.

If that's trying too hard, I'll graciously accept the label.

Which is too damn much

Also, speaking of hobbits, did you ever read LOTR? It seems like something you'd have missed and I think you missing out on the quasi-outsider art of JRR Tolkien would be colossal tragedy. I mean you can call him a fantasy writer but he was a weird ****ing guy who wrote some works in Norse skaldic poetry just cause he was obsessed with (and highly educated in) Norse mythology. I don't know how much you'd care about the actual novels but the bizarre level of detail and obsession he gave to his history of Middle-Earth for several decades (two decades before he even wrote The Hobbit) sounds like the kind of thing you'd love as a research topic.

Yeah I just spent the last twenty minutes thinking about how you should check out Tolkien. It was ill-disguised nerd ranting in my own head but I feel it was justified.
