If I ever get married we're all going to KFC and EVERYONE gets their own bucket.

Linda and I paid for our wedding with $1,000 total - a gift from her grandfather. Family cooked and manned the buffet. A friend of mine DJ'd. Buddy lent us his PA. Got the local legion hall for half price.

We got married in my dad's backyard by a JOTP.

I paid for my wedding with my ex-wife all by myself. Her family never liked me, so they didn't offer to help and I didn't ask.

When KFC has a special on buckets would be the smart money.

If you would get a marriage penalty, plan it for beginning of the year so that the higher taxes take longer to go into effect. My guess is that at your age you'll most likely get a marriage bonus though, so plan for the end of the year and they will treat it like you were married for the whole year instead of just the last week.

I'd say the Spring before you die.

I've heard the way to do it is to buy a house, pop out a baby, and get married all in the same year. I'm not getting married anytime soon but you can bet when I do it'll be for the bennies lol
