So they started shouting out all the local Detroit gangs on every album doing this gang sign so they wouldn't get their asses beat.

I think that's one of the funnier parts of their history. Like, what did they even do to get noticed by gangs to get their asses beat? That was a good book despite the questionable integrity of how honest J is. I like the part where the dude tried to rape his mouth and he threw a brick at him and ran away crying.
