many times in arabic when a person wants to call another person beautiful they just say they are like the moon, i guess same goes for persian

not really, its very very commonly used, you hear it all the time everywhere basically

like a mom can call her child that, a guy can call his gf that, even friends can call each other that, you literally just refer to anyone you think is beautiful as the moon its kinda weird now that i think about it

well yeah, in english it sounds extremely cheesy

but in arabic it doesn't
