From what I have seen of the human race as a whole, intelligence is clearly not a prerequisite for self-sufficiency.

I've seen way too many twenty-somethings who support themselves with minimum wage jobs, have five kids, receive little to no support from the other parent(s), and who still think that "kids are a blessing", to believe that.

Morons are perfectly capable of have a home of their own. But if your own self-esteem is that tied to your ability to make rent, then by all means, believe what you want.

I don't think intelligence is something easily measured, and I think you confuse education with intelligence.

I don't even respect the IQ test for a multitude of reasons, the biggest one being that people who are offered large cash prizes for doing well tend to do better.
