I was at the range once and took the ear muffs off for a few rounds just to get a sense of how loud it was. Yup. LOUD!

Yeah, whenever I see some guy on some CSI show fire a gun inside a house, I'm just like, "Your hearing should be gone, and yet ten seconds later you're having a conversation which clearly indicates that your hearing is perfectly unaffected? Bull****."

Last time I was on a range was 1986 at Ft. Jackson South Carolina in the Army. M16A1 w/40 rounds. I shot 38 out of 40 targets (50-300 yards w/pop-up targets) which got me an Expert Marksman/Rifle badge, and a helicopter ride back to the Barracks. There's an outdoor range not too far from me now, but these days I probably couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with an M198 Howitzer.

Usually shoot a PX4 semi auto, or most recently the black powder which I believe is a .45 colt if I remember correctly. Either way, the thing is ancient, its not a replica. It was used once upon a time in old battles. That's my bf's baby haha. I'm gonna get one though.
****in nice on the badge man. One hit on each or superb grouping?
