In my case the range was outdoor. It's a really crappy place and I'll never go back. There's an indoor one downtown that's suppose to be really nice. PLan on checking that one out sometime.

Edit: There is a picture my professor has that I want a copy of that he took with the DSLR. It's me with the glock, and he took it when I was looking at something but my left hand is curled into a fist, and I am not smiling. It's a very black pantheresque pic. FIGHT THE POWER.

Yup... Four bucks for the whole freakin day. We're spoiled here. Plus a trap range, thinking I'm gonna get the man and I a trap shooter for valentines day because that looks way fun. This is about how much space you get, and even on a Sunday the place isn't too crowded so you usually get even more.

Nice. Nothing like that here in SoCal suburbia.

Would love to head to a shooting range. Only been once, but it was a blast. Gotta have some different kinds of weapons though. It was fun firing an AK for the first time, but then switching to a Glock added some nice variety. Would love to go in with a Magnum, M-1, M16, and 12-gauge. Anybody who looks down on the concept of shooting guns as some kind of childish, macho fantasy bull**** needs to fire one. It's primally empowering to get in that zone that your ancestors probably regularly felt when on the hunt. I may not be cool with the idea of hunting in this day and age, but I can certainly understand the allure. I'd feel too guilty to ever do it myself, but I still imagine there would be an ambivalence if I ever did shoot a deer for sport.
I'll also never be able to take gun sounds in movies/TV seriously ever again. Guns are loud. Like, literally deafening. You have to wear headgear to protect your hearing when at a shooting range, and even a handgun is still so ****ing loud that you can't help but jump the first few times. I understand that many casual TV fans probably don't want to have gunshots with realistic volumes blasting from their television, but I just can't take those fake gunshots seriously.

@Bat even people who go shooting regularly still jump a little when firing. Next time you get a chance to go, load a random blank. You'll see your arm twitch anticipating the shot. Its a good learning lesson for anyone at the range, and very difficult to get over.
