And yes, Kayleigh, my hair is pretty long. Good observation. As for exact measurement, I'd say it serves as a proper scarf. It tickles the top of my butt and I'm getting it cut soon.

Anticipation: You are so baked in that picture.

well scuze me missy - my smokes are free by the way. =P

FETCHER. 10-23-2009 09:44 AM

By smokes, do you mean cigarettes, or joints? cos its all confusing me :(

333 10-23-2009 09:46 AM

Hahah, I figured you would have picked up on it after the conversation Satch and I had and my mentioning of Parliament Lights. I am speaking of cigarettes. Joints are good, too.

And don't be confused ... You're not attractive when you're confused.

FETCHER. 10-23-2009 09:48 AM

ah right, cos i was thinking $8-9 was really cheap for joints .
i'll try in future .. :p:

333 10-23-2009 09:50 AM

^ Nah, bud here varies and the quality is ****. If I were you, I'd look into what anticipation is smoking ...

It's really good right now.
I'm trying to stay away from it though

Mojo 10-23-2009 10:13 AM

I know how to, but i cant do it. I can't roll cigarettes, i tried for about 6 months when i was buying tobacco and rolling my own.

FETCHER. 10-23-2009 01:23 PM

I know how to from watching friends do it alot, but never actually tryed myself.
I would make sleepin' bags (a bad joint) so my friend's would do it for me :), and still do if i go out for a smoke.

From the Dreadzone gig in Gloucester last night. Joint-best gig I've ever been to. I'll review it in their thread in the reggae forum when I be bothered.

'tis indeed. Lee was kind enough to invite me to the gig, which was pretty damn cool of him. Great night, even if I did have to endure a total of 14 hours on the bus to make it.

right-track 10-23-2009 01:44 PM

14 hours!? I hope he was worth it mate. ;)

FETCHER. 10-23-2009 01:46 PM

Might have been ;)

It was well worth the expenses and sitting around waiting for delayed buses and edging through the M6 rush hour though. It's actually quite a nice spot down south-west, and I'd never been before, so it was good getting away from familiar territory for a night. The family and friends of his I met are as good a bunch of people as you'll come across as well.

Oh yeah :D

Great night out it was and all. Even the supporting DJ set was good. I'll get into all the details a bit more in the gig review

Hmm, I can't really see that myself. I don't remember my eyes watering anywa. Just a trick of the flash light is all I can assume, that is if you're talking about that whitish spot beneath my eye right?

I'm in Bolton and live, what, 20 minutes away from you?

Invite accepted :D

right-track 10-23-2009 02:21 PM

I thought you were at an alternative address?

There's a few northerners here. We really should organise something.

My family lives in Norfolk, so I spend the holidays with them. Most of the time I'm in Bolton though.

Silly Americans and their calling things by a broad, understood term...

Back to the earlier turban wars:

Freebase Dali is correct that the word "turban" is "a common umbrella term, loosely used in English to refer to several sorts of headwear," according to Wikipedia.

Quote:

Wikipedia continues:
"The men of many Islamic cultures have worn or wear a headdress of some sort that may be considered a turban. Many types of head wrap are worn by Islamic scholars in many Muslim countries. In modern Persian Gulf countries, the head wrap has been replaced by the plain or checkered scarf (called keffiyeh, ghutrah or shumagh), though the Arabic Amamah tradition is still strong in Oman. Afghan men wear a variety of turbans, known as lungee. Lungee is also worn in the north west of Pakistan, especially in the tribal areas. The lungee is usually worn in tribal meetings, but a majority of Afghans prefer to wear it in everyday life."
Now, I myself in wintertime wear a variation of the head scarf turban, similar to those worn by desert people. Back in the 1980s in Germany I purchased two head scarfs (soft circular cloths, like a winter scarf with the ends sewn together) because they were so practical for staying warm in cold weather. Place one end of the scarf over your head, twist and wrap the remainder around the neck, and..ta da!...you have a very toasty scarf/hat combo that completely covers your head and that pesky open neck space between a typical hat and scarf! When it gets really cold, I wrap the headwrap around my head twice, and use part of it to snugly cover up my nose and mouth, so all you can see are my eyes. That's me in the middle picture. The photo on the right provides proof that I actually DO have hair all over my head (sorry, boo boo!).
