Just shy of two weeks ago I went to London for the weekend to watch my beloved Sunderland play in their first Wembley cup final in over 20 years. I'm not exactly friends with people who tend to take a lot of pictures but we took quite a few that weekend. Despite the result we had a brilliant weekend.

He was born in Sunderland, moved to the US and has been in LA now for 42 years, very rarely taking trips home. He had come back for a few days for the match and wanted to buy all the Sunderland lads a drink, which he did, and it certainly wasnt cheap. I don't think he understood that we were taking this photo because we wanted a photo WITH him though. |

Hehe, you'd be surprised (maybe?) how many strangers tell me that in the street too. And I know, Carling. But the pub was right next to Wembley stadium, opened at 10am for us, and from that first surge to the bar to the last one three hours later it was pretty much grab whatever you could and get the hell out again.
So we bought a crapload. |
