I haven't found a brand name on it, and when I asked her who it was made by, she made an attempt to "Find the paper work", but I think she didn't want me to know how much she paid for it. I'm still researching what brand it is. I just have to know myself, but I'll let you know if/when I do find out.

Yesterday she invites us over for a drink, saying she has a late BDay present for my GF, and an early one for me. So, she gives the GF a bracelet, and tells me she'll be right back with my toy.

I was literally in shock!

DOBRO? Nice piece. I have only seen a few acts play with them, Rocco Deluca and Mark Knopfler, beautiful instruments.

I sat front row at Buddy Guys watching John Hammond Jr do his thing using one. The actual term is "Resonator", but Gibson bought the label "Dobro" and has since adapted it using it for specific models such as the one I have.

It's also electric. Recordings will be coming soon.

I recall that now. I know Knopfler and Deluca both play the Dobros, but I remember hearing about the label story. Either way, that is some serious craftsmanship and a very nice gesture by them to purchase that for ya. No good deed shall go unpunished my ass. :thumb:

I'll give it a listen when I get out of work. I'm sure its one hell of a good sound.

Is that a clarinet attached to the sax? Does it work?

Ja, it's a clarinet attached to my tenor sax. I used the sax mouthpiece to reach the deeper notes. The buttons on the clarinet are taped down to make it work, surprisingly well, I might add.
