Really? Posting opinions/comments is usually considered conversation, i.e. where you actually have to think and contribute to discussion, whereas taking loads of photos of yourself and then continuously posting them is fairly obvious case of vanity. You like the way you look, and you like having people tell you how good you look, what other purpose is there for posting pics of yourself to random people on the internet? Not saying that there's anything wrong with that, but don't try to make it sound like a completely innocent venture.

I hope the hilarity of having this conversation in a thread entitled, Member Picture Gallery, is not lost on you. You brought up posting pictures not being a completely innocent venture. Innocence or guilt has absolutely nothing at all to do with anything that we're discussing. I'll give it to you for arguments' sake.

1. Never once did I ask anyone what they thought of what I look like.
2. You do not know my purpose for posting pictures on the internet is.
3. Posting opinions and comments is just as invasive and provocative as posting pictures. In fact, it's more personal in many ways. Posting a picture of yourself in a thread marked for that purpose is a conversation starter in it's own way.
4. I post in other areas of this forum as well, and I stay on topic on those threads.

All that being said, I would like again to stress that I want to have fun and create fun. And maybe, starting this weird off-shoot of a situation and discussion is fun, too. Maybe more fun than posting pictures, and maybe more ego-driven and maybe more vain, no?

Fair enough, I've said the exact same thing to the countless new members who've joined, done the same thing as you have, and then left or fallen away into obscurity. Being here for a few years gives you a bit of bias I guess against anyone who does this sort of thing right off the bat. How about you tell me why you like posting so many pictures of yourself, when one would obviously suffice. Why not space them out at least? Why not actually establish yourself as a solid contributor rather than immediately trot out glamour shots?

I simply do what feels good (in situations where there is nothing at stake) and I go off of an emotion rather than thinking about it too much. It felt like fun to post these pictures here, and in the way that I chose to do it. I like to have fun, and create fun for others. This is all entertainment, even our discussion. I don't know what it's like to be a member for years nor do I know what it's like to be one that falls into obscurity. You could easily ask me why I felt it necessary to post a Herbie Hancock video in the jazz thread or talk about Susumu Hirasawa in the pop thread. And my answer would be the same. Because it's fun and it's what I chose to do.

Tbh it was always girls like savannah that aggravated me most...using the come-hither eyes of others to vent frustration against her insecurities as a person.

I think we should ALL drop this witch hunt entirely. It was silly, and had Selena Gomez not posted in the first place this conversation (and subsequent pictures Alexthe4th posted) probably would have never seen the light of day.

I can certainly claim partial responsibility for that, but I'm not arrogant enough to assume all the blame.
