You know why US laws will supersede that of another country? because she is the resident of the US and they are very picky about this type of stuff.

What? I'm fairly sure that isn't true. If you go to another country, then you have to live by their laws. A minor over there, aslong as they are 16 or older, would not legally be considered a minor here.

EDIT: I'm still not 100% but it seems you could have a point. Upon returning to your country, you may be charged with something you did while abroad, even if it was legal there.

Yes, YOU could be charged for returning to YOUR country and breaking YOUR laws on foreign soil, but THEY can't charge you for breaking THEIR laws on your home soil.

Hell, imagine you're younger, 18, and you're living in one of the numerous US States with the legal age being 16. Imagine the same thing happens, or you're at a party or something, and the girl is 16, and she's just from another State, but one you don't know the age of consent for. Are you gonna stop and ask her what the age of consent in her state is?

At the end of the day, the girl is the one with the responsibility to tell you that she isn't over the age of consent in her state, you cannot be expected to know those laws, and you've gotta be kidding me if you think it's the responsibility of the other person to question the younger about the age of consent in their home country/state before having drunked sex at a party. That'd probably be one of the single greatest turn-offs of all time.

well the way I thought of it was, I'm 19. I can drink here but can't drink in america. 19 year old americans can knock themselfs the fuck out over here, but can't drink at home.

No, I probably wouldn't ask but if she wanted to get me in trouble she could and they would side with her in court because US court system is screwed up like that. I would be branded a registered sex offender and all kinds of other bull****.
