Us brits make do with crap discos and fights although my eldest has mentioned that his school are having a 'prom' for his leaving this year. WTF? Has our culture been so eroded that he has to dress in that get up? what happened to the classic disco and a few shandies :(

We don't have proms either but we have a debutante ball, which is entirely optional. I didn't do it because at 16 I was an angsty feminista who didn't believe in supporting the values apparent in the activity!
