Yeah that isn't recommended. It's against the rules to join just to promote your music.

Coulter 05-17-2016 06:40 PM

its against the rules to be active and post your music?

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 05-17-2016 06:42 PM

You can post your music, but you can't just spam 15 posts and then start uploading your music. You need to stay and be an active member on the boards for awhile and then you can start promoting your music (in a very minimal, respectful manner, no spamming.)

Coulter 05-17-2016 06:49 PM

well im just honest, the main reason im here is to promote my music , but im also going to be active... im not the type of dude to leave a track link and not network with other people and stay in conversations... thats bad business in general .... so u will see me around

The Batlord 05-17-2016 06:53 PM

Give it a few weeks or months. Cause, no offense, but just cause we're music nerds doesn't mean we wanna listen to every single video that gets put in front of us. We've got a million and one albums we're listening to already, and some random guy on the internet who we don't know from Adam isn't going to entice us unless we actually know them well enough to be curious.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 05-17-2016 06:56 PM

But if you're going to be posting music anyway, just so you know you don't need 15 posts for YouTube links.

Just take whatever comes after the v= in the URL, and then put it between these tags: [ YOUTUBE ] [ /YOUTUBE ] without the spaces

Coulter 05-17-2016 07:15 PM

honestly, I'm not going to give it a few months. That's ridiculous and if people aren't looking for new music they may LOVE, then that's the stupidest **** I have ever heard. Whether or not you listen to me I WILL be heard, and you can either be apart of that or you can fall back with the rest that think like you. This is not my only revenue, i am not looking for "plays" I am looking for people who genuinely enjoy my music and want to connect with me.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 05-17-2016 07:18 PM

Yeah but you see this is a forum for discussing music, not for finding music somebody else is trying to promote for their own selfish reasons. If you saw how many people came in here and spammed their music before being banned on a day to day basis maybe you would understand why we do not feel like wasting our time listening to music that a new, unknown member decides to share after just spamming his 15 posts.

Zhanteimi 05-17-2016 07:18 PM

You need to work on your PR. 8 posts in, and you're already being a dick.

Coulter 05-17-2016 07:26 PM

Look, I know what it is like to be a "veteran" or a very seasoned member on a forum. Here is the deal. For one: I am not spamming any posts just to post up a track if that was the case it would have been done already. For two: I wasn't being a dick at all, just raw honesty. I am a huge presence any where I go, and yes maybe that hurts me sometimes and people do not like that. The thing is it wont matter. If you do not listen to my music other people still will. ...... and on top of all of this ... you guys are speaking for hundreds ... maybe thousands? idk .. of people on this website? Come on now, you are speaking for yourself, and other people can do the same. Maybe I will get banned who knows. I ain't here to cause problems. I'm here to join this community as well as show my music to them. Let's leave it at that. You all have a great day.

You are one drop in an ocean of artists fighting to be heard, and there is absolutely zero reason to think that you have any more talent than a dead cat. Why would I waste five minutes on you instead of absolutely any other artist? Cause you shoved your music in front of me? Do you have any idea just how many albums I have on my computer that I still need to dig into? If you can't understand that then you obviously have no idea how to promote yourself.

Coulter 05-17-2016 07:28 PM

I believe in myself , and at the end of the day that is all that matters.

The Batlord 05-17-2016 07:31 PM

Good. Hold onto that. I'm sure you'll need it.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 05-17-2016 07:31 PM

That's good, but it doesn't mean we're going to listen to anything you post. Hang around if you want though, you seem like a fairly passionate guy and I've noticed from your posts you have a big interest in hip-hop which is one of my favourite genres. It'd be nice to have another person to talk with about it if you're about more than just posting your own music.

Coulter 05-17-2016 07:39 PM

I love all music, I am a singer and I have dabbled in every genre I can get my hands on. and btw , I am not shoving my music in anybodies face, you have to actually click my post , and then click the link to even listen to it... If that is a problem for you then don't do it. I make good music and I will believe in myself and if I sound cocky to you, there is a reason and I have the material to back it up. and to be frank, the only dick here is Batlord from the jump. If you don't like me stay away from my posts it is really very simple. And yes qwertyy I am happy to conversate about any type of music with you.

The Batlord 05-17-2016 07:40 PM

I always like to make an impression.

Coulter 05-17-2016 07:42 PM

I appreciate it

I don't disagree with your post, but I see no reason to bring "dead cats" into this... I'd wager my late Izzy Cat's so called "talents" against those of some internet spammer, innydayatheweek.

[edit: this is your official cherry-popping hazing, op... What you choose to do with it, is up to you]

Coulter 05-17-2016 07:45 PM

I am sure your dead cat is very talented Chelsea

I had a cat named after Mozart, so I'm sure he could have stomped some hack kitty named after a douchebag from ****ing Guns'n'Roses .

My cat could have strummed your cat's intestines like a beautiful harp.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 05-17-2016 07:48 PM

Don't worry about her, she's just the resident crazy cat lady. Ever watch the Simpsons?

https://media.giphy.com/media/3sL8fQET19ac8/giphy.gif

That's pretty much her.

Coulter 05-17-2016 07:52 PM

Hey cat ladies can be very important to the social balance of any community.

The Batlord 05-17-2016 08:04 PM

Chinese food places the world over would go out of business if not for them.

You might be surprised to know that, currently, I only own one cat... And I don't so much "own" him, so much as provide his basic rehabbing needs for a couple days before he decides to piss on my floor and then dip out for more tomcat misadventures.

I'm not quite at the point in my grieving process where I feel ready for any long term feline commitments... Too soon, still much too soon :(

I actually call you a crazy cat lady in the most endearing way possible, just so you're aware. But also because if you had of told me you had 12 cats, I wouldn't have been surprised, not even the slightest.

Was that a compliment?

You bet it was. It takes a very strong woman to take care of 12 cats.

Prophetic words. I dream of one day breeding bengals.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 05-17-2016 08:31 PM

See, I knew I was onto something here.

ChelseaDagger 05-17-2016 08:34 PM

Ya still there, Coulter, or have you already been scared off by Batlord?

The Batlord 05-17-2016 08:36 PM

Being dismissive of the man's music is more alarming than raising Bengal tigers apparently.

Not Bengal tigers, ya silly goose, Bengal cats (six generations removed from the Asian leopard cat, if I'm not mistaken).

You've gone from alarming to disappointing. Congratulations.

You speak too soon... The cats are the compact version whose lithe little bodies enable them to sneak up on you on swift, deft, silent paws... Call me "disappointing" when you're being eviscerated by Shnuggle Boo.

I'll be disappointed in myself.

Justthefacts 05-17-2016 10:20 PM

I don't listen to music from some dude that looks like Jonah Hill. I get enough Jonah Hill from Jonah Hill, I don't need shitty music from him too.
