Default Pleased to Meet You

Amazed to see the knowledge from everyone here at the forum, very impressive.

I would really like to broaden some of my musical horizons through this forum. There is so much great music out there and so little time. I would love to hear it all. Well, most.

My main favs
- My Soul collection is invaluable!!!!!!
- Tom Waits
- 60s and 70s (Gerry Rafferty Right Down the Line is one of my favorites at the moment, also love Jim Croce)
- Classics like Led Zep Hendrix and Stones of course
- Blues, Muddy Waters is my guy
- Reggae, I love the Abyssinnians
- Classic Country
- 90s (rock and grunge, Mark Lanegan is a guilty pleasure)
- Jazz (Melody Gardot stands out)
- Rat Pack goodies, Louis Prima and Ray Charles
- Afro Cuban (Buena Vista Social Club)
- The Cult

I would like to know more jazz and broaden on classical and I'm open to the unexpected!

Here's to discovering new music!

And thanks to both of you for the welcome.

I am 5 month pregnant with a little boy and I see this as a great opportunity to soak up as much great music as I can, so he will have an awesome start in life and be exposed to many different varieties. Then one of these days when I'm too old to work a computer, he can do the same for me.

Also, cleaning the house is much more fun when you have some new exciting music to listen to.

Welcome to MB, and congrats on the soon to be born baby boy. You have a bit of diversity in that list, and judging by that, maybe you'll enjoy cleaning while this plays in the back ground:

Thank you Plankton! This makes me so happy I joined.

I had never heard of this band before, but so happy to know they are out there now.

Happy to hear you like their style. Derek is a monster slide player, and his uncle is Butch Trucks, a founding member of the Allman Brothers (which Derek became a member of at one point). Susan Tedeschi has a voice of gold, and had her own career that was doing well before they got together. She can play a mean guitar too. The rest of the band round out the ensemble really well with some star session players.

I agree, every time i clean my house i put on an album on the background from a new artist i want to get into, that's how i got into Jay reatard.

Welcome to MB Sillhoutte and congratz on your baby boy, if you haven't picked out a name for him yet i suggest you name him Bruce.

Yes she is very talented, love the voice (mostly jealous). Big fan of the Allman Brothers, so great to hear they are still part of great music.

I feel so much cooler for having heard that. Thank. you.
This kind of variety is exactly what I've been looking for.

And, good one, no Bruce was not mentioned as a possibility, HAH! Fist bump.
