Ahoy hoy...
Hey everyone, I've been stalking the forum for a while and decided to join recently. I am enjoying the banter and finding new bands to listen to.
I'm in my early thirties and live in Queensland, Australia. I generally pretty eclectic when it comes to music, but in particular, my wheelhouse is: Genres- Classic/Blues Rock, 60's/70's Rock, Arena Rock Heavy Metal, Hair/Glam Metal, Metalcore, Death Metal, etc. Alternative Folk/Folk Metal/Folk Rock Bands: Metallica, Faith No More, Eric Clapton, Boston, Chicago, The Tea Party, Dire Straits, Something for Kate, Jimmy Eat World, Iron & Wine.. to name a few From the list above it seems like I have a rather limited scope, and I hope weighing in on banter and listening to bands I wouldn't have otherwise considered, I may expand my music-listening horizons and meet some passionate music-lovers! Cheers |

Welcome! I'm curious about life in Australia. We just went on holiday with a remarkable woman from New South Wales, near Young. She is a sheep farmer with 17,000 sheep. She gave descriptions of a rugged existence there that fascinated me. Many species of birds visit her property including cockatoos who come to eat grain outside her kitchen window. That sounded almost magical. "The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World is one of my favorite songs. Your mentioning the group made me realize I haven't looked into any of their recent music. I hope you'll have a great time here discussing and listening to music with other music aficionados!

Thanks Plankton! I'm in two minds about the new FNM, they have some great cuts in the album, like Sol Invictus, Sunny Side Up and Separation Anxiety and Mother****er, but the album isn't without its clunkers either.
Horses for courses, I guess, but I consider Album of the Year and The Real Thing as better rounded offerings. Quote:
I live in a urban area west of Brisbane, and the birdlife - even here - is beautiful. We see many Cockatoos and Galahs around our house, and you will often see Galahs foraging by the roadside in areas. Kookaburras are also known to make their presence heard of a morning around here too If you've not listened to Jimmy Eat World's 'Futures' album already, I strongly recommend it. Its solid. I can't say its a regular occurrence lol, we have a few 'roos in our sparser populated areas of my town, but they rarely go Street Fighter in suburbia Thanks Overcast, happy to be here |

So I overheard, when you didn't let go of the button...
As Homer said, "Your hairdo looks so queer", but I can dig it. Thanks for the kind welcome Epoch Last edited by InStereo; 07-29-2015 at 09:12 PM. |
