Hello from Turkey

Hi folks. I'm Ufuk. I'm twenty four years old. I'm a student at university. I study public administration. I played guitar but because I haven't talent about playing it i gave up this occupation.

Music is my life. Generally i listen rock music but i try to listen every quality music genre. One of my favorite American singer is Tracy Chapman. And Fast Car is song of my life.

Because to share my music taste I registered this site. Especially i'm active in section of Country, Folk & World Music.

Maybe you're interested in Turkish music. I'm sharing Turkish music singer. You should know Turkish music. There are very talented musician in our country.
But my favorite Turkish singer is Şebnem Ferah. Şebnem Ferah is a rock artist. You should listen her. I mostly want to introduce her. In fact I opened a topic about her.

It's pronounced as written. U=u F=f(e) U=u K=k(e) in Turkish alphabet.

Ufuk means horizon.

RoxyRollah 05-20-2015 08:31 AM

U-Fuck obviously.

Oh Im sorry. Its catchy, your parents were so modern.

Plankton 05-20-2015 08:40 AM

Welcome to MB.

Tracy Chapman is pretty great. A humble, yet extremely talented woman.

Frownland 05-20-2015 08:45 AM

Had to ask about the name, but welcome. Can you recommend any good Turkish oud players? I like the instrument a lot but haven't heard it used in the traditional sense, it's always used by experimental improvisers I listen to.

No need to be sorry. Yes, it's catchy. I should have guessed that it could misunderstood. Due to my name, my some friends ridicule me sometimes.

After all English and Turkish are different two languages :)

No, my parents aren't quite modern.

RoxyRollah 05-20-2015 08:54 AM

Maybe we should come up with something a little more English friendly. Lest what happened happen again. I mean U-Fu ck. No no, that simply wont do.

Thank you :). Exactly, specially I like her modestness. But she disappeared for a long time. I want to listen her new songs.

Welcome. And what our friendly Roxy is trying to say is that she's going to rename you so she can pronounce it without cussing.

Thank you. I understand now. But not need to find a new name. She can pronounce my name as written :) Or she may call me 'horizon' :)

See that's the problem. To a native English speaker, your name does look like it should be pronounbed "U-fuck".

Exactly. It's harder for a Native English speaker to pronounce names such as this because the English way has been rooted into our every day lives. Not to say you can't make an effort to accommodate for it. And I'll tell ya, I thought you were cussin' at me.

"Even if i'm drowned in the end, i have to swim in that seas"

"Each heart is a major world.
The seas dry and the land is offended in that world when a heart is broken.
The journey begins from blue colour to blackness in somewhere when a heart is broken.

Don't worry about it, you already seem to have a leg up on Roxxy's grasp of the English language and it's her first one.

I was going to find a Turkish swear word, so that I could ask you if that was my name, could I go to a Turkish forum without getting made fun of? But then I found an entire list of bizarre Turkish profanity, and now I just want to know if these are actually used by real people in Turkey.

Amcik Hosafi = stewed pussy as a compote (I don't even know what a "compote" is)

Gt Lalesi = ass tulip

Atını siken kovboy = Cowboy who fucks his horse

Ayazda kalmış bekçi yarrağı = guard dick in the frost (what does that even mean?)

Ciğerini Sikeyim = fuck your liver

Dinazor tasagi = Dinasaur's balls

Ebenin ami = Your midwife's pussy

Ecdadini gštten sikeyim = I fuck your ancestry in the ass

Gelmişini geçmişini sikeyim = fuck your past and present life (is that like a Buddhist thing?)

Tassakli krallar siksin ebeni = Kings with balls fuck your midwife (what's with midwives?)

Turk Bozi Tgha = My Turkish Brother (why is this under a list of swears?)

Yarrağımın antifrizi = Antifreeze of my dick

Yarragimin anteni = the antenna of my cock

antenle otuzbir cekmek = masturbating with an antenna (just... what?)

girsin gotune keman yayi = may a violin bow enter your ass

Got any killer = Do you have any really good.

Do you have anything in just plain text format? I do not have much patience with Youtube video recipes. Can you just tell me the name of the chicken dish and then I'll find a recipe?
