Somewhat new at this... But hello!

Hiyah,

I've never been a part of a music forum before so hopefully this will be fun. Although making music was a really large part of my childhood, I'm not particularly knowledgeable about artists or what music is out there. I just sort of enjoy coming across things, picking up bands here and there from my friends or people I meet. I enjoy using music to brainstorm story ideas.

I will say I've come here looking for some answers and to learn more about what's out there. I'm pretty open to new music and I'm hoping to expand my horizons here. I'll be honest and say that a specific question has brought me here, but I'm not entirely sure where I would ask it. Where in the forums would I post a question about a genre if I don't know what it's called or if it even is genre? I don't want to upset anyone and post it somewhere I shouldn't.
