Post Hello!

Hello fellow music - lovers,

I'm Moritz form Berlin, Germany! I'm 20 years young, just finished school and am currently traveling the Australien east - coast, which is a blast! I've got a quite varied taste of music, hoping to have some interesting discussions and get some inspiration on which records to buy next! I do not play in a band myself, though I'm planning to start one as soon as I get back to Germany, having had piano lessons for more then 15 years and just having started to play drums 2 years ago. I mostly played classical music on the piano, my favourites being Chopin and Brahms, with some experiments into Blues.

I consider myself a vinyl - enthusiast, after getting my father's old record collection, which is where most of my beloved bands come from. I don't really have anything like a Top 10, because there are just too mans good bands out there, so I'm just going to give you a big overview over the stuff I like with no particular order and just how they come to my mind.

Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Bob Dylan, The Small Faces, The Beatles, Frank Zappa, The Doors, Jim Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, The Stooges, MC5, Peter Tosh, U - Roy, Devo, Joy Division, Gang Of Four, The Pop Group, The Libertines, Bob Marley, Adam Green, Iggy Pop, Cabaret Voltaire, The Garden, The Clash, Ramones, The Sex Pistols, Public Image Limited, Captain Beefheart, Beck, Buzzcocks, The Feelies, John Cooper Clark, Tom Waits, Magazine, The Specials, Madness, Babyshambles, The Velvet Underground, Pere Ubu, Einstuerzende Neubauten, This Heat, Jake Bugg and so on and so forth...

Hoping you get a little feeling on my musical preferences and looking forward to a great time!

Devo

Hey, I have been playing piano since I was five and like most of the music you listed. Sure we're not doppelgangers?

Well, not that many to be fair, but I've got "The Beatles' Second Album" ( In a a really weird german version from the mid to late 60s), "A Hard Days Night", "Help!" and "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band".

Do you like NDW (Neue Deutsche Welle)? A few favorites of mine are Xmal Deutschland, Palais Schaumburg, and (early) Die Ärzte, among others. I am still exploring the genre though. I like some newer bands, I'm not totally stuck in the 80s. I wish I knew more about German bands tbh.

+1. I was bumping Madness last night. Almost made me want to buy a trenchcoat and a vespa and tour the states.
