Found this forum through Google, mainly here for the Avant Garde/Experimental board. I play a bunch of different instruments and like to find new music.

I'm probably pretty commercial by your standards. I just like what I like. I've been really into Henry Cow and associated acts (Fred Frith & Chris Cutler's solo stuff, Kew.Rhone., Art Bears), Magma, and I've been digging on composers like Horatiu Rădulescu and Gérard Grisey. I'm old school. I haven't found much from the last decade that I can get into. Perhaps it is navel gazing, but I've found myself listening to the free improvisation stuff I do with my friend.

"Quality" is a matter of perspective.

No shame in liking what you like. None of the people you named strike me as overly commercial, and I doubt anyone would really judge you for that anyway. I have at least some passing familiarity with everyone you named except Rădulescu. You should geek out about him because as a composer/music school graduate, I live for seeing people geek out about that type of thing in particular.

Don't mind him. That's just the musical project of one of the other members of the board. This place is pretty sarcastic, so don't expect any mercy from the majority! :)
