Hi Everyone
I'm Jason, 34, from California. I've been lurking on these forums the last few days. I thought I knew a lot about music but there's a lot of bands/artists mentioned on here that I've never heard. Got lots of stuff to check out.
Music wasn't always such a huge part of my life. I used to be one of those people who just listened to whatever was on the radio and didn't really pay much attention to music. Then on September 30, 2007 I signed up for a last.fm account and everything changed. I'm totally addicted to scrobbling. One time I went an entire month without looking at my profile which I consider a major feat. I spend most of my free time exploring new music on Spotify and other places. It's been awhile since I've been active on any online forums so hopefully I'll be able to stick around. |

Hi Justin,
I've been listening to a lot of older stuff the last couple of years. I'm one of those weirdos that likes both The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, although I'll admit I like the Beatles slightly more. I also like Led Zeppelin, CCR, Tom Petty, AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, and I've recently started getting into the Kinks. As far as more modern bands/artists go, I like The Black Keys, Jack White, The Kills, Blood Red Shoes, Band of Skulls (probably my favorite new band at the moment), The Duke Spirit, The Raveonettes, Awolnation, Foster the People, and many more. That barely scratches the surface of all the things I listen to. As you can tell, I like bluesy garage rock type stuff mostly. It might just be a phase though. Back in the late 00s I was really into electropop music and still enjoy a little Calvin Harris or Cut Copy sometimes. |
