Default Hi there, fellow music lovers!

I'm generally not a big fan of forums and originally registered here because of one specific recommendation I was seeking out, but there is so much interesting stuff going on here and so many nice and knowledgeable people, that I think I'll keep hanging around.

Music is a huge part of my life. I do make some music myself, but that is just a minor hobby and I'm mostly a listener and all about finding new, exciting and beautiful music.

My tastes are pretty diverse, although I wouldn't say I like everything.
I like a lot of so-called experimental and avantgarde music, although those labels are somewhat meaningless. My tastes in this field encompass a lot of really noisy and chaotic stuff, as well as meticulously but weirdly structured music.
I also like progressive rock, mostly avantprog and zeuhl and the prog classics from the late sixties and seventies, but a lot of other and newer prog as well.
I like jazz, mostly free jazz, but also a bit of the more traditional jazz, fusion etc.
I like some early blues.
I like krautrock, some post rock and a little psychedelic and space rock now and then.
I enjoy some "exotic" music, especially from Japan, Mongolia, Tuva, Pakistan, Java, Ethiopia, India and several other parts of the world.
I like some post punk, new wave, no wave, mostly the eccentric kind.
I like classical music, the older, as well as modern classical.
I also like hip-hop, although there aren't that many artists I truly enjoy.
Some IDM/breakcore can be nice too, although my love for it faded over the years.

I don't particularly like metal, indie rock, alternative rock, grunge, punk, reggae, hard rock, singer-songwriter music, soul, gospel, funk, country, techno, although there are exceptions in almost all of the cases.

I'm generally open-minded and am thankful for recommendations.
I also consider myself to know a lot about music and like to help people out.

My main languages are russian and german. I also know a little french and spanish.
I am actually glad if people correct me, since my english is good, but certainly not flawless, so feel free to point my mistakes out.

As you see I sometimes write more than necessary so I'll stop now.
