Default Hello all.

It's nice to meet you. I'm Socky, or Sockface. I'm probably one of those silly wannabe musicians, but I don't really mind because music is one of my favorite things to make.

I'm from Iceland, and I'd love to discover new music to inspire and entertain. Music inspires me to make all sorts of things; film scripts, sculptures and drawings, or even more music.

Also I feel I should warn you, as I am kinda socially inept and completely new to music forums, I fear I may make some stupid mistakes (be it spelling, factual errors or addressing someone by the wrong pronoun). Please bear with me on that. I'm a quick learner and should become bearable after a while if I'm not already.

Love, Socky.

Welcome to MusicBanter, Socky!

I also feel very inspired and entertained by music. I especially appreciate the creativity and emotion people put into it. I hope you'll enjoy discussing and listening to music here with the other members, new and old, who care about music as you do.

I know little about Iceland, but I do have one memory of being there when I was 5 years old. My family went to a small museum in a quaint, old-fashioned village. Just inside the entrance of the museum stood a stuffed two-headed lamb. Now when I hear of Iceland, my first thought is "stuffed two-headed lamb."

The sight of this dead little animal was disturbing to me...but very memorable, kind of like the song "Guiltless" by Martin Grech, which I first heard at MusicBanter and really sticks in my mind, and "Angry Young Man" by Get Well Soon.

I hope you'll also find and enjoy music here that impacts you. Again, welcome to MB!

Hello there, Sockface!

You had me at I'm from Iceland - and you're a music lover! What kind of music do you make?
In my opinion the highest quality of music is currently produced in Iceland: Ólafur Arnalds, Jónsi, Low Roar, Múm.
I'm sure you will make your way through the forum, it's great to see you around. Welcome to MusicBanter.
