Hi guys and gals,

My name's Jon and I live in Arlington, TX (originally from Scranton, PA.. If you've ever seen "The Office", you'll know that Scranton is where Dunder Mifflin is! LOL..it's not really there though!) Love living in Texas, but I hate the Dallas Cowboys with the fury of 1000 suns.

About me: I'm a guitar player/singer/songwriter/engineer/teacher. I've been playing guitar for about 17 years, singing for about 6, and playing in bands for over 12 years. I have a degree in Audio Engineering form Full Sail and worked as an Audio Engineer for a post production company for about 5 years before moving down to Texas. I'm in a band called The Liberty Underground and we released our first record in October 2013. It's basically a mix of 90's rock and metal...my biggest influences are Tool, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Metallica, and G'N'R. I also have been teaching guitar, singing, and home recording for the past 5 years in Scranton and now in Dallas at my company, DFW Rock Academy. I'm looking forward to chatting and shooting the proverbial with you guys/gals!

Other interesting factoids about me...I love the Pittsburgh Steelers and am a Penn State fan. Binge watching Netflix is pretty fantastic. I love dogs and I have 2: a German Shepherd mix (Dodger) who is my little buddy and a Pit-Bull mix (Siren) who's my little sweet pea. I also like long walks on the beach and soft whispers in my ear...hahahaha

Since this is a 'music' forum, I have to ask the burning question... what are some of your favorite bands/artists?

i will echo carpe's post and say that plug.dj/musicbanter is pretty much the best way to interact with this forum and find new music.


also i am from pittsburgh so nice to see another pa guy around even if ur in texas.

I mainly just watch Law & Order, Supernatural, the Walking Dead, Star Trek: TNG, and I recently got into House of Cards, which I really like.

I also watch some 30 Rock, and SVU. I used to watch Parks and Recreation, but I've since gotten away from it for a reason I can't remember. I think I got distracted by Supernatural.
