Default New-Advice?

Hey. I learned my first instrument almost exactly a year ago. The ukulele. Now I play guitar and bass as well..and have began piano. I've been singing for a year..more serious now than ever. I've just recently got some decent recording equipment. Wish I had a set of drums. I've learned and grown so much in just the one year of all this. My voice shines best when I'm covering songs in a band (that is no longer together) but I'm in need to write something original. Advice! I'm learning different theory stuff.. I need advice on using a DAW program to make drum instrumentals for a song..but I'm so lost and cannot find tutorials..writing songs is hard..I've yet to complete one..any links to articles or videos with anything useful would be awesome.
I wish I could find a serious band!

Try the Artist subforum on these boards. Someone there may be able to help you.

It would really help to know what DAW you're using.

oh yeah I love that guy, he has been helpful. I probably should clarify myself more too though. As far as music theory I guess you would call it. I was wondering exactly how drums fit into a song. Like Bass goes with guitar when you consider the root note? Right? I'm looking for info on like..the relationship..of drums..in a song..to the guitar..and the bass..and such. Melody..Harmony..Rhythm stuff..idk if im making any sense...guess im a newbie at music composition..

Ah, I see. A good friend of mine bought me this book, and (don't laugh) although I haven't read it, I did scan through it and found it to be somewhat handy.

Music Theory For Dummies Cheat Sheet - For Dummies

A good place to start anyway.
