Smile Yo!

Yo! I like going by the name "Qlynx". I love music, I appreciate all genres (apart from trashy EDM, for instance David Guetta", mountaineer folk music and Celine Dion) but I have a special place in my heart for electronic music. My favourite music duo is Daft Punk but I love all types of EDM. I make music myself though I am only in the beginner faze. Also, I like cats.

I've been following your posts and I might find a new friend in you because I'm into electronic music myself and there are only a select few of us that post in that area of the forums.

Who are some of your favorite EDM artists? I know you like DeadMau so you don't have to name him. Also which specific types of EDM?

I compiled most of the different types in this thread http://www.musicbanter.com/electroni...on-thread.html

Also if you want to get any recs from some of the members here you can post in this thread
http://www.musicbanter.com/electroni...on-thread.html

You may also enjoy this thread if you are into Dubstep. I'm not talking brostep but the good stuff.

Yo!

Straight off, thanks for the reply. When it comes to EDM, probably my favourite genre is D&B. The energy of it is unbeatable. Other EDM genres I like, well definitely FrenchHouse, Daft Punk being obviously the prime example. I like dubstep, but not every kind. I don't appreciate ones that are just about "the drop". Obviously I like a drop and bass but I like more the clever dubstep if you know what I mean. I like some progressive house, I think the emotional kind of progressive house really gets me. I love some ambient stuff such as Washed Out or Milosh. Also I sway towards electronic music quite a lot and I like tunes that just wanna make you dance.
I'll check out the threads asap.

Artists I like:
1. deadmau5
2. Daft Punk
3. Phonat
4. Matt Lange
5. Seven Lions (sometimes a bit too trance like for me)
6. Xilent (his D&B primarily)
7. SubFocus
8. Skrillex (don't kill me)
9. Aphex Twin
10. Alvin Risk
11. FredFalke
12. MagneticMan (Benga also)
13. Disclosure (I did Garage too)
14. Justice
15. Prodigy
16. Kill The Noise (not all of his stuff, but some)
17. Knife Party
18. Madeon
19. Milosh
20. Nero
21. Noisia
22. Oliver
23. Porter Robinson (the "Spitfire" album mainly)
24. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs
25. Washed Out

Probably missed quite a lot artists but these are the ones that come to my mind instantly.

Your G!

Nice list, I've seen SubFocus, Knife Party and Kill the Noise live. Just 10 days ago as a matter of fact.

I'm just getting into Washed Out myself and some of the others on your list that I don't know I may end up checking out.

Alvin Risk, FredFalke and Oliver to be exact. I know about all the others pretty much to varying degrees.

You lucky bastard! I'd love to see Knife Party/Sub Focus live. When it comes to genres I am not too mad about are probably techno and trance. I don't find them too interesting in any way (obviously when it comes to EDM). Do you listen to any non EDM music (like bands)?

It says so right there under my avatar.

Where do you live?

Also, I've never heard of Everything Everything but I do know of a Phoenix song called Everything is Everything. It was one of my favorites when it came out.
