Was looking for a good music community and chose to join this one. I'm honestly just sick of Last.fm because no matter how hard I try, they will never understand me!

I live in Michigan and I just turned 21. My first love has always been movies, but music comes in an extremely close second. As far as the types of music I like, I'm up for anything and am not very picky (though it takes a lot for me to like modern instrumental music or modern country).

Favorite band: The White Stripes
Favorite non-White Stripes album: NMH: In the Aeroplane Over the Sea (cliche, I know).
Favorite rapper: Big Boi
Singers voice I'm most jealous of: tie between Julian Casablancas and Elvis Costello
Who I'd most like to see live (who I haven't seen already): Joe Jackson

What I'm currently into: the new Jay-Z, Surf Nazis Must Die, Louis Prima, Ween, Hieroglyphics, Jamaican Queens, Joe Jackson, Azealia Banks, Wax Fang, and Youth Lagoon

Honestly, practically the whole forum is a way of discovering new music. Just take a look around and ask people when appropriate, it's real easy. My go-to subforum is usually "General Music." :)
