Default New Here

New to this forum, really looking forward to good discussions with fellow music lovers. So tough to find people among those I interact with regularly who are as passionate about it as I am.

I play guitar (Strat for electric, Ibanez acoustic), drums, and a little bit of piano. Pretty much interested in all music, but in a spectrum of Blues/Rock/Jazz the most, working down to country and rap the least. Although I do appreciate country and rap as art forms and cultural expressions. Lately have had an emerging interest in more classical stuff, but can't begin to speak intelligently about it.

I am a physician by trade, live in New York, and, well, I guess that's about it for now. Anxious to get started!

Hi, it's actually an inside joke where I work.

If you work in an ER, you would know what it meant. Nothing gross or dirty. When a patient is intoxicated, the triage nurse often writes "+AOB", verbalized as "Positive AOB". The "+" is just shorthand for a significant finding on physical exam (you write "-", or negative, when a pertinent finding is absent). "AOB" is shorthand for "alcohol on breath". So when a patient is intoxicated we often say, "patient is positive AOB".

I used it as an email address as a joke, and thought it would be a good name for the several forums I have joined.

Welcome to Music Banter. Always nice to have more open-minded individuals such as yourself.
What are some of your favorite acts?

I dont know that I really have a favorite act. I guess its sort of unforgivable living in NYC, but I really dont get out and watch live music much. I like seeing bands in small venues a lot, but never have been into the large concert scene. Just like listening to music mostly. But if anyone has any suggestions of a good band playing in this area in a bar or small venue, I am all ears.
