Talking Hi I'm Helen - new member

Hello to everyone,
Am a musician/singer/vocal teacher/festival organizer, etc...and am based in Switzerland.

I've been in the music business for 3 decades in various functions. Have been signed on with EMI (Malaysia) in my earlier days when I was part of a duet. Studied Jazz composition at Berklee College of Music '88.

At the moment, I'm busy with our 21 year old youth development project 'Bandstand Learning with Rolemodels'. It has turned into a music festival since. We produce new works and re-make of standard ones too. We place selected young musicians on the bandstand with renowned professionals to study the project for a week (as in an apprenticeship) to perform together in a grand setting at the festival. So far it's been far reaching and rewarding. Our alumni are active in the music scene, local and international.

I find this site interesting and wonder why I had not joined a music forum like this till now.

Hope to make some good acquaintances here. So much about me for now...

Have a great day, everyone.
Helen

Hi Helen, and welcome.
You'll find there are some great musicians here (not me), so look up Burning Down, Mr Dave and Frownland, among many others, who will probably all be happy to talk "professional music" to you till your ears drop off!

When you're not doing that, come out and say hi to us. Join in some threads and come and make friends. Have a quick shufty at our rules; they're not too rocket-science based.

See ya out there!

Hi Helen I went to school right down the street from Berklee and went to a couple Berklee parties on my college days. Small world! Welcome aboard!
