Default New Person

Hello Everybody!

I'm a huge music fan, but I am also a fan of the arts in general. I'm finishing a music degree currently and play percussion, keyboards, and drums for the most part. I like all sorts of music, but gravitate most towards indie pop/indie rock. My favorite artists/people currently are Elliott Smith, Quasi, Islands, Animal Collective, Crystal Castles and anyone on the Rhymesayers hip-hop label.

Welcome aboard! What do you think of the more recent Crystal Castles album?

I'm really digging it. To be honest, I'm pretty new to this band, so the III album is where I started getting into them.

Wait, you like Rhymesayers? Seriously, check out Anticon. It's like Rhymesayers, but more mind-blowing. In particular: DoseOne, Themselves, Slug, Eyedea, and Alias.

And yeah, Aesop Rock and co. are killer...but these guys are ahead of the curve.

Some quick recommendations:

Themselves - It's Them

(Who on earth can rap over that bizarre time signature?! It's madness. I love it.)

Alias - Divine Disappointment

(From the POV of 'God' and quite interesting)

Atmosphere - Nothing But Sunshine

(Pretty killer, but I don't really see any point for the cow mooing bit. It's kind of Eminem of him, but the rest of the track is pretty dank.)
