newbie and need help

just joined. I need an answer to why my brand new portable cd player doesn't seem to want to read my old 80s cds. do I need to try to find a working older player? guess I need to return my new one. thanks. Brian

Shouldn't happen. Does it play newer CDs? Are these CDRs or anything? What make/model is it? Do the discs play in any other player?

Yeah, your CD player is ****ed. There should be absolutely no reason why it shouldn't read older CDs.

exactly batlord. I mean they're cool to display but damn Id like to play them eventually. They're all 80s metal. I have GnR's first so you know .... but I can find the tracks online.

Perhaps you need to resurface the cds.

Yeah, if they're sitting at the bottom of a pool or a river, then that can't be good for them.

LOL! They're in almost perfect condition. Did they make cds in some different way or something back then than today?
