Default Hello I am Frank.

Lets see, first I must say that I am stoked to have found this place, looking through the Introduction/index thread, I like that there has been a lot of effort put in to making this not a spam site, every forum for music I have come across has no replies and tons of users just spamming their projects, that are IMO mostly have A** garbage, I am musician from Las Vegas, I mainly rap, but I arrange songs that would be more in the pop genre, not really in to rap these days how ever, old or new, I find that most topics and beats are just not appealing to me as I get older, I am stoked to have the opportunity to maybe meet people like me who have sort of out grown their genre and don't really know where to go but they still really wanna make music, I won't have much material to share as I am stuck in this limbo, I am more interested in conversation between fellow music enthusiast, hoping to spark the fire that puts me in the creative zone yet again, for the record I like pop/r&b better but I do not sing well enough for it, but I write and produce it a lot. I do how ever love Lots of styles of music and have respect for almost all of them, But the new rap that is popular now, makes my blood boil, so in the interest of a peaceful community I will try to refrain from rants on that subject. I have shot music videos produced music other artist and tried creating small labels, I have a couple hand fulls of fans and a small handful of youtube views, and 9 albums, all of which have led to not really much of anything, but it really was a fun journey, sorry for rambling,
Cheers.

I like soo many artists, but ill try to give a little list of some favs...

Ne-Yo , Usher , David Guetta , Modestep , Ludacris , Justin Bieber , Fleetwood mac , CCR ,Kelly Rowland , Nelly , Swedish house mafia , Dappy , Chamillionaire , Blink 182 , Eminem ,Garth brooks , and I could go on and on.

I am sure that I will need to defend Justin Bieber in that list, Most of his music is not for people of my age, but he is raw talent his Christmas album was amazing, and I know as his albums mature I will like more of his stuff. I added him to the list to show that my taste in music has nothing to do with what Im supposed to like, and is 100% based on what sounds good to me.

I also am a huge fan of progressive house and dubstep. Not Skrillex though.

^^ you only have 9 albums? Most of us on here have at least 10 platinum albums...I started 5 record labels...THIS WEEK...now I'm bored....

I'm joking!!!! I only have 2 gold albums and 3 record labels.

You don't know what to believe now, do you?

Well kudos to you sir for putting all of that work into the music industry and welcome to the site!

Share some of your best produced material with us!!! Put up some links! We want to see what kind of talent has graced us.

Ever heard of Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, or Madlib? They may be to your tastes, and are all modern hip hop/rnb. Definitely better than most of what you've heard, I promise.

Welcome to the site, by the way.

sorry if my post was miss leading, everything I have done has been out of my house or at a couple point small studios in small towns., and by handful I meant just that, a small number.
and if you really have gold albums that is awesome! none of my stuff has ever really been played other than I think my myspace was up to a million views before I deleted it lol..

I was under the impression not to be sharing personal material untill you have proven you are not just here for self promotion?

You are totally correct, Slappy was jumping the gun when he told you to share some stuff... he's new too, so he may have not even been aware of the rule/

so far what I have heard from the weeknd is refreshing for being new, but the few tracks I heard were just a tad wierd, as is some of frank oceans stuff, but they are both played on my spotify now and again, I will look up madlib, thanks for the suggestions and the welcome.

RULE? Rule? What rule?

Well is there at least a promotion thread or forum for it? Because I'm sure a ton of people would come in and post. (As long as we keep them away from the rest of us)

And yes I'm new....
