Hi I'm (insert your name here) Oh wait, that's my line

Hello to one and all here on Music Banter. I just stumbled upon your place of music and well....banter today and wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Bill and I have loved music for as long as I can remember. I play drums and am learning bass and piano.
I love many genres of music but my favorites are power pop, post punk, 80s indie, early punk, and alternative and 60s classic rock.
I'm glad to be here to share my tastes and opinions with others, discuss all aspects of music and be exposed to music I may have missed. I'm always looking for something new to listen to.

A Belated Welcome to MusicBanter, Bill!

I see you've already jumped into conversations, which is great. Seeing that you like power pop and Wilco, I decided to look up my favorite Wilco song online and happened upon a video of Wilco & Nick Lowe singing "Cruel to be Kind." I had no idea they'd done that together. (I prefer the original by Nick Lowe. :))

I also want to honor the fact that you are a musician and are expanding to additional instruments. Learning a new instrument is such fun, so I'm glad you are enjoying that. I hope you'll have fun here sharing tastes and opinions, hearing new music you may have missed, and discussing all aspects of music. (I especially like MusicBanter because you can find or create any topic imaginable about music...or anything else, for that matter!)

Speaking of music that one may have missed, yesteday for the first time I heard the following song by Sweet that I'd never heard before: "Action." The song surprised me because it sounds more modern than I expected for a '70s song. So, I thought I'd offer this one up to you, in case you've missed it, too:

If you threw in metal, you'd pretty much have my playlist (generally speaking of course) for the past year down exactly. Care to specify any bands?
