Hi, this is Akash from India
Hello Music lovers,
This is Akash from India. A Project Engineer by profession, i am a die hard music fan. Music is the only Savior for me after hours of talks and meetings. As of now, i am not much aware of music other than Pakistani, Indian and a few western bands. This is what brings me here. Hope to get enlightened with music of each corner of the world. Thats all about me. |

Thanks tore.
Since i am pretty new to Western music, i dont have any favourite artist, but i do keep myself updated with bands of Rihanna, Linkin Park, Metallica, Pink Floyd, and Akon. I was a big fan of Backstreet boys, but seem to have lost touch with there music. |

Aren't boy bands coming back? I'm specifically thinking of One Direction and the cultural impact they might have.
I was actually wondering if you might have a favourite artist closer to home, from India or Pakistan

Hi Akash, and welcome!
I feel MusicBanter is a great place to learn about music with which one is not familiar. I hope you'll enjoy the site. I grew up hearing mostly Western classical music and whatever pop music was on the radio in the U.S., so in a way, like you, my music horizons had some limits. After I joined MusicBanter and began to explore the wider world of music, I have enjoyed hearing songs and styles that are completely new to me, such as (some of my new favorites that I like to share in case I find people who like them, too ) ... ESKAMON - "Fine Objects" (electronica) Eskamon - Fine Objects - YouTube ^ Strange, isn't it? GET WELL SOON - "Angry Young Man" (a recent song by a German musician) Get Well Soon - Angry Young Man (Official Video) - YouTube I hope you'll find MusicBanter to be a pleasant place to relax after all your talks and meetings.

@Conan: Yeah, the boys are gone. They are doing some stage show these days, not sure if they are gonna make a comeback.
@tore: Yeah, i do have a lot of artists who never go off my playlist. Some of them like Adnan Sami, Strings & Jal (Pakistani Bands), Kailash Kher, Raeth (Pakistani Band, not active these days). I thought you guys might not be familiar with Indian/pakistani music, hence din mention them. VEGANGELICA: Thank a lot "Musical Mammal". You struck the right chord. Being bought up in India, i am not very familiar with music of countries other than India/Pakistan and a few western rock bands. This brings me to this place. Hope i can learn from you people. Atleast i will get to make some melodious frnz out here. PS: Loved "GET WELL SOON", thanks. |
