Default Hey guys!

Hey,
I’m new to this, obviously why I’m posting in here, but it seems highly interesting. I enjoy ranting about bands and music, and this seems like the place to me! Plus, everyone here seems nice.

I also want to know where I’d ask people opinions about my band!

Thanks!

Not here, that's why people like it here. So they can talk about music without someone yelling 'Hey come check out my band' at them every 5 minutes.

And you might want to give this a read

Thanks guys! I was curious because people here seem musically intelligent, but otherwise I already can get deeply involved in some of the conversations that are taking place!
Thanks

Welcome, Marty.

I, too, enjoy a good rant! Here's where I like to do some of my ranting: http://www.musicbanter.com/general-m...-you-hate.html

Feel free to join in when the mood strikes. I find that a good rant is very cathartic.

About your band and getting feedback on your music:

The current MusicBanter rules that the moderators have made state that "joining MusicBanter for the sole purpose of getting feedback on your music is prohibited. This site does not exist for these kinds of services. We only offer them to established, contributing members of this website."
Music Banter - Announcements in Forum : Song Writing, Lyrics and Poetry

So, there *is* a home here for musicians when they are "established, contributing members" (however the moderators define that, and I don't know).

One way that new songwriting members can ask for feedback right away without breaking the rules is to post lyrics in the Artists Corner in the "song writing, lyrics, and poetry" section.

Again, welcome! I hope you'll enjoy the site.
