ok, a better idea, i got a few maps and an exellent web site from the Croatian Tourist Board: www.croatia.hr ....just type the places i mention in the search engine and it gives you all the pictures, accomodation, restaurants and other tourist neccesities....even short films.
![]() first map: the peninsula of Istra; definitely the most rewarding place to visit as far as one day trips are concerned. Must see places: Poreč ( if you can't see the last letter, it's Porech, you can try Porec maybe ), Rovinj, Pula, Motovun, Opatija ( this town is very nice, Austro Hungarian architecture, been a tourist desitnation for over 2 centuries, lots of old hotels, parks, villas, a very nice place to have a cup of coffe on a sunny sunday afternoon, about 20 miles from where i am right now )....all very clean, tourist orianted towns. Istra is the leading region in Croatia as far as tourism is concerned. Very reminiscent of the middle of Italy, hills, small villages on top of them, similar architecture. Also, check out the islands: Cres, Krk, Rab, Lošinj ( Loshinj or Losinj for the search engine...or just copy paste what i wrote) ![]() This is a map of the north of Dalmatia. Must see places: Zadar, Šibenik ( Shibenik ), national park - Kornati, national park - Krka ![]() and finally, the most beautiful part of Croatia, South Dalmatia. Must see places: Split, Trogir, Bol ( on the island of Brač ), Hvar and Starigrad ( on the island of Hvar ), Vis and Komiža ( on the island of Vis, although you won't have the time to visit seeing as how the ferry ride to this island is a couple of hours long, still ,check it out on the web site, they're amazing villages ), Vela Luka, Blato and Korčula (on the island of Korčula)...and of course the much publicised Dubrovnik, Cavtat and Ston in the far south. ![]() hope this is of some help
