Smile Hello,is there anybody in there?

Just nod if you can hear me

Newb here.

42 year old Scottish female.Been and will remain a life long music fan,to an obsessive Trivial Pursuit cheese piece/Mastermind specialist subject level.
I have been on band specific sites for a long time. But the problem that crops up time and again is that many fans get over precious about the specific band and it can all get a bit handbags at dawn if anyone attempts to expand their musical experiences by suggesting widening their listening with an artist recommendation.

I have been fed up with it recently,so have been ghosting around here the past few days and I like what I have read in the musical diversity threads and discussions so by declaring myself as a newb I would like to stay

I won't list favourite artists here for two reasons,it would take to long and I don't want to set up that I only listen to such and such a band ... music liberates the soul.

Welcome: how can you have 0 posts???

Anyway, if you want a mentor, someone to guide you round this musical madhouse we call Music Banter, I offer my services. I like your attitude towards music, expanding boundaries and cutting down prejudices. Plus I think the Scottish accent is super sexy!

Nice to have ya onboard.

We have an Adopt-a-Newbie program, and it looks like Trollheart is offering to be your buddy, unless of course you don't need one.

Welcome to the site. Has anyone asked you about your favourite genres yet?

Ok I guess it would be rude to refuse to be mentored.

My favourite genres would be rock, progressive, blues, indie, soul but this is rarely an exhaustive list.
I rarely choose to listen to pop unless exposed to it via radio, not keen on rap or hiphop, can tolerate and on occasions enjoy jazz.

My life long obsession began at a very young age when I heard three humble Canadian men make the most amazing music I had heard. They still remain vitally important to me and continue to be stable source in my music collection.
