Just Saying Hi

Hey, my name's Brittany. I've always had a passion for music, whether it be instrumental or vocal. I have quite a few favorites bands, and I'm open minded with music genres also. If I had to pick, rock/alternative would probably be my favorite genre though, and here's a few bands that I like:
*Nickelback
*Bullet for my Valentine
*ACDC
*Linkin Park
*Disturbed
*Hinder
*Korn
*Three Days Grace
*The Killers

And a lot more that I can't think of at the moment. Feel free to message me, or whatever.

Welcome to the site. What brings you here?

RockMySoul 03-28-2012 12:58 PM

Just wanted to talk to other people who love music, and maybe gain new perspectives on certain musical aspects.

And thank you for welcoming me :)

This is a very good community for new perspectives.

Certainly!

Welcome :)

the forum will certainly disagree with your music tastes, as the bands you listed are generally despised here

but velkommen, anyway

hope that we do broaden your horizons

me? i'll listen to anything, as long as it's not boring, and my list goes from Justin Bieber to the Gerogerigegege

Croatian Masochist 04-01-2012 03:45 AM

Hey. What's your favourite Korn song, have you heard of Gorillaz, and if you had a band, what would you name it?

RockMySoul 04-01-2012 09:05 AM

ClockWerk: Thanks :)
Howard the Duck: I can agree to disagree, as long as all opinions are respected. I'm definitely open to broading my musical horizons. Where would music be today if all musicians were close-minded? And I love most music too, but there are some that are just "okay" in my book. I usually don't think of music as "Bad" though, I think of it as "Different".
Croation Masochist: My favorite Korn song would have to be their song "Liar", but I also like "Twisted Transister" and "Freak on a Leash". The band name question is a tough one....... I'm not sure at the moment but I'd want it to have a multiple meanings, and I'd want it to make music listeners think about what it could mean to them.

problem is, some people here are extremely close-minded and prejudiced

i sang all the praises to LP's "A Thousand Suns" and has been variously shot down in the process

i don't think they even actually bother to listen to it - it's like Linkin Park, yeah, they suck

RockMySoul 04-01-2012 09:40 AM

That's a shame. They are missing out on really good music, including Linkin park. The main reason I love Linkin Park is the meaning and soul they put behind their music. Anyone who can't appreciate that is missing out on more than just music.

Hi Brittany!

It looks as if a lot of what you listen to is quite similar, so please feel welcome to have a look in our music subsections:

Rock & Metal - Music Banter

You'll find some interesting new artists in there, and there is also a thread for recommendations.

Rock N Roll, Classic Rock & 60s Rock - Music Banter

You might wish to look in there as well.

I notice that you like nu-metal quite a lot - you may wish to have a look in the nu-metal thread: http://www.musicbanter.com/rock-meta...-nu-metal.html

Hope this can be useful!
