Hey?
Not good at talking to people. Could never be a frontman. But here it goes......
Hi. My name is Uh_Me and I'm a music addict. My name actually is Uh_Me because my parents wanted to see what would happen. What happened was child cruelty. Anyway, I play guitar and am primary lyricist/composer for my newly formed band Yogert. Its misspelled on purpose. I'm not some sorta moron who can't spell check :P. There actually is a story of sorts to it. Ummm..... What else goes into an introduction? |

Hey, Uh_Me. Welcome. Did your parents actually include an underscore _ in your name?? That *would* be a rather unusual name with which to contend!
What else goes in an intro? Well, often people include bands or music genres that they like. For example, what sort of music genre do you prefer to use for your lyrics? I took the liberty of checking out bands you like on your profile and see you are a fan of The Raconteurs. Yeay! I love their song, "Steady As She Goes." That's their only song I know, really, but I feel it's a great song especially because the guitar part is simple but effective. And here it is for you as part of your MB Welcome Package. I hope you enjoy the site. The Raconteurs - "Steady As She Goes" The Raconteurs "Steady, As She Goes" - YouTube

You're my favorite person ever. :3 And yeah. Huge fan of the Raconteurs. Btw, you should check out the song Hands. But I'm a huge delta blues fan.Robert Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Willie Brown, Blind Willie McTell, Son House: all my heroes. I tend to use that style as the basis for most of my composing. As in, every song I write begins on an acoustic and could have been written at by one of these people. Then, when I transfer it over to my electric, I add a few simple effects and spice up the rhythm a bit. Comes out as something new and I write lyrics to whatever it is.
Other than the blues, I like a lot of indie, proto-punk, some pop punk, alt rock, classic rock, grunge. Lol the list is pretty vast. |

I don't know much about the delta blues so I'll look forward to seeing your posts about your heroes. That's nice that you like a genre enough to continue its life in your own music. The only song relating to the delta blues that I can think of is one I rather like because of the pretty piano. I also like the way the lyrics evoke the sense of a specific place so well. I don't think the song itself is blues, though! Here it is, anyway: Marc Cohn - "Walking in Memphis"

It makes me think of a musician named Josh Ritter. The very powerful imagery used is more akin to a folk, singer songwriter to me. More Bob Dylan than BB. Try listening to this: A GIrl In The War, Josh Ritter.
Edit: It says no to video. Okay, let's go about it this way youtube.com/watch?v=kqLssKusGzM Last edited by Uh_Me; 02-24-2012 at 04:08 AM. |

Let it be known that self-promotion is prohibited to new members here, so please stick around and get to know us first!
Also, your parents are kind of dicks. Apparently children are now allowed to contest their parents under special circumstances where their names are so stupid they get teased mercilessly in school: A six year old named Number 9 Bus Stop or something got her name turned over by a judge. Dunno why someone would want to do that to their kid. School's hard enough as it is without being called Rainbow Brite Over the Mountain. |
