Default Hey Howdy

Guitar player for 50 years here.
2-year degree in Music: Union Showtunes gigs, the whole bit.
Now play dinner-jazz, but I've played about everything except much Classical.

I like pretty much anything with a groove: jazz; blues; soul; Rock; even Country if it's not too processed.

You?

Welcome to MB Sonar1..

I personally like the same styles you've noted.

Jazz, Blues, Soul/Funk/R&B, Rock, and Country as well.

I hope that you enjoy your stay here at MB.

Even noise?

By the way, who are a few of your favorite jazz and blues guitarists? (Since you're a guitarist yourself).

Actually our youngest son The Heavy Metal Drummer (now 31) has played quite a bit of so-called "speed-metal" music that sounded like the YouTube bit.

Not necessarily MY cup of tea, but once in College we had a class session on "free" playing where we were encouraged to experiment with sounds.

My favorite jazz and blues guitarists range from Barney Kessel and Johnny Smith, to Freddie King and selected Mike Bloomfield cuts.

For myself I like to play some Chicago style blues with some friends at the harp players house on Friday nights, when I'm not playing much more pedestrian drinkside jazz stuff (quietly) with a quintet.

We're making TENS of dollars at that!
