One messed up (and amazing) band.
Also, if you like Beefheart's saxophone solos, then you should probably look into Kaoru Abe... whose playing is much more technical than Beefheart's, but shares the same general aesthetic. (I'm guilty of trying to mimic his style of playing on my violin). |

Melt Banana is awesome. Have you ever heard of Daughters? They're an American noise-punk-type thing and are definitely influenced by Melt Banana's weird, dissonant guitar sound.
