Hello

:wavey: Hey all! My name is Alicia, I live in Missouri. I joined in February, hope to be more active now that school is out.

I love all kinds of music... classic rock, rock, pop, a lil bit of country, and currently been listening to more heavy metal lately.

Can't wait to share music with everyone!

Hiiii Alicia! Nice avatar :D.
Could you tell us the names of some bands you like?

Insane Guest 05-25-2011 06:39 PM

4 "i"s s_k?

One "i" is sufficient.

Welcome to the site, and please, share some bands you like.

s_k 05-25-2011 06:42 PM

Yeah I'm not sure what happened there.

Paedantic Basterd 05-25-2011 06:43 PM

Nobody can argue it wasn't enthused though, SK.

Welcome, Alicia.

Thanks for the welcome! I like a wide variety of music but a few of my fave bands are KISS (my first concert), Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, Three Days Grace, Collective Soul, STP and so MANY more!

Add on.... BTW I LOVE your music collection!

Hi Alicia! Welcome!! I like your taste in music ("classic rock, rock, pop, a lil bit of country, and currently been listening to more heavy metal lately").

I'd never listened to metal either, but this guy I know has been playing songs for me to 'try out' lol. And I've found a few I like! One was from the 'Five Finger Death Punch' band you mentioned and I love it! I think it's one of their 'slower' songs, but meh, it's a start lol :D

Insane Guest 05-26-2011 06:53 PM

Both of you shoud listen to Opeth.

s_k 05-27-2011 05:07 AM

Hahaha, that's not really metal Holly, that's sort of nickelback on steroids...
But you gotta start somewhere :)

Even though I was talking to Holly, you can do that as well alicia75

You can try out Opeth but I don't think that band is a good transition band to throw someone into if they are just getting started with metal

The album Morningrise is the perfect trasition into metal, great vocals, without growls.

But seriously, tell that guy to stop.

I just really haven't found much 'newer' metal I like. Been listening to alot of Pantera and Metallica. Any suggestions would be great! I did check out Opeth. Will look into the Morningrise album.

More suggestions would be great though!

Thanks

 Thanks guys.

@Dj - no, he isn't from MB and I'll be sure to take a look at those threads.
@Lone Misfit- Thanks for the recommendation. I will check out that Morningrise album.
