I mostly listen to hip-hop and rap, but I'll wonder out of that genre often.

Welcome I'm up in Ny as well.

I'm pretty sure as you spend time here and check out different genres in their forums you will learn more about their history and find some bands/artists that you like.

Oh man, I couldn't name them all the bands, but as of late, I've been listening to Angels & Airwaves, Dropkick Murphys, Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon, and O.A.R. I'm also a huge fan of Taylor Swift.

I'm not even gonna attempt to name all of the hip-hop artists I listen to.
