Welcome!
What do you make of Beady Eye? I can't say I've bothered myself with whatever they have been doing, but I did just get a text from a mate this morning telling me he was listening to their album this morning and likes it. |

I think that's what a lot of fans of Oasis were expecting with Beady Eye - Oasis (without Noel) and yeh true it is Liam with three other members of Oasis but Beady Eye have a new sound and there is a mix of some Oasis like tunes, Beatles tunes (I mean the song 'The Roller' is almost an exact replicate of 'Instant Karma' by Lennon) but the songs were all wrote by Liam and the band and they are defo moving on from Oasis which is bloody good and heck even Liam said in an interview that Beady Eye will be playing NO OASIS songs during their gigs..... daring yet a truly bold thing for them to do in my book So yeh man defo check it out on iTunes or Youtube or whatever, I personally enjoyed it and still I am (I am seeing them next month in Brighton ) and I am excited but ofcourse the album does lack something... but doesn't every album? It's an old cliche I know but defo worth a check my friend

I'm going to listen to it on Spotify today, I think. I think they need to distance to themselves from Oasis, and a back-catalogue of predominantly Noel Gallagher-penned tracks. They at least need to do this initially, if they can get enough credit for what they are doing, on their own, then they could work some Oasis tracks in for the fans. I think they would be better off using the ones they wrote themselves though, as oppose to Noels.
I wasn't expecting much from their album, and I'm still not really. However, I've said it before, they have the potential to surprise people. Maybe not the potential to turn the world on it's head, they aren't gonna produce anything that hasn't been done before, and at a higher standard. But Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, and Andy Bell, as songwriters, have more tracks in them than some people may realise I feel. |
