... Where am I? Who are you people?..

.. and what happened to my pants?

Just another new guy joining this community of music fans and musicians. Well, a little about myself:

I feel like music is an essential part of my life. There isn't a single day that I don't listen to / play music. I'm from Michigan, 26 years old, and I play guitar. I'm not in a band but I'd like to find some people to at least jam with. The kind of stuff I like to play is instrumental rock / post-rock / experimental. Not too many people around my area who are even aware of such music which is extremely disappointing. I check Craig's List every day but all I ever see are Metal-heads, country singers and cover bands (nothing wrong with those but it's not what I'm looking for). If I'm lucky I might find someone within driving distance on this forum.

Welcome aboard!

I don't know exactly what kinds of experimental music you're into but the part of Michigan you're in certainly has some good experimental electronic stuff going on. This label for example is based there.

Thanks. I'll check them out.

I still wonder who has his pants though.
The intro is, indeed, ****ing brilliant.

I checked it out and unfortunately it's not the kind of stuff I'm into. Although, earlier today I did find an independent label in Lansing that seems much more up my alley which is called Illegible Records. I apparently don't have enough posts to use links yet but if you want to check them out it's illegiblerecords[dot]com
Their vocal recordings don't exactly sound top-notch but the instruments sound good. They do have some experimental-ish stuff but the artists are a varied group- definitely not a specialized label.
