Aloha!
Aloha music banter community!
I've been visiting one specific thread here - Bulldog's Armchair Guide To Elvis Costello - regularly for just over a year. That thread has given me a ton of insight into Declan Patrick MacManus' work during a time where it was really useful to me. I finally registered here to thank him publicly and to poke around the community a little more. If that thread is typical of the quality of post around here, I really should have registered earlier. Seriously. I have a wide range of musical interests. I imagine that many of you, like me, were college djs. My dj years were 1985 to 1992. My knowledge of music from that period is broad but not deep, if you know what I mean. I managed to experience a musical "dark age" period from 1993 until the dawn of the Internet, so I am just catching up with some of the great music of the 90s. I mean, I managed to miss Pavement entirely. How does that happen? I'm also around page 300 Or so of Keith Richard's "Life.". He's just met Gram Parsons and started using heroin. Which reminds me that I've just recently looked into Gram Parsons, too. As I wrote, broad but not deep. Anyhow, I look forward to reading and, when I have something worthwhile to offer, contributing to the community. Mahalo! Joey Michaels Honolulu, HI |

Welcome Joey
Looking at your music taste and posting style, I'd say you'll fit right in. Hope I'm right. About the quality of posts here... Ah... Well... I hope you don't mind some off-topic now and then .
